R.David Duke is a Restaurateur Co-Franchisee who has always believed hospitality is king. He started his official restaurant career at fifteen years of age. He is currently a Co-Franchisee of Ruth’s Chris Steak House, dividing his time between locations in Canada and Texas. David also operates a family owned business, The Palace Truck Stop and Casino in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Before devoting his work full-time to the hospitality industry, David was educated at Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 2004, and was ready to focus on his hospitality career. After completing a two-month formal corporate Ruth’s Chris training program, he moved to Toronto, Canada where he was employed as a server at the Ruth’s Chris Steak House location there. Later, David was promoted to Front of House Manager in RCSH Toronto and Mississauga continuing this position until 2005.
In 2005, after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, David decided to return and assist with the recovery of his hometown. During this time, David embarked on a new career working as an Account Executive at ABC Television. He overachieved at ABC by winning #1 overall New Business Executive in the country and continued in this career path until December 2008. David then rejoined his passion working with Ruth’s Chris Steak House.
Having grown up with the founder, Ruth Fertel of Ruth’s Chris Steak House, David emulates her passion in everything he does. He devotes his spare time to charitable endeavors that support under-privileged children within the Raintree Children and Family Services organization in New Orleans, Roy Maas Youth Alternatives in San Antonio, Texas and Peel Children’s Aid in Toronto.
In his proudest role, he enjoys spending time with his wife Lori and their two children: Jackson & Savannah.
